Renee’s Journey
Renee was first introduced to the captivating world of tattooing through a mesmerizing television broadcast during her formative years, and from that very moment, she instantly fell in love with it. The sheer idea that such an expressive and artful practice existed completely blew her mind. She felt an undeniable and strong pull towards the art of tattooing, and through an immense amount of support and encouragement from her friends, family, and teachers, Renee became determined to transform this dream into a tangible reality.
In 2013, as soon as she turned 18, Renee got her very first tattoo from the talented Wes Schulz at Dreams Collide Tattoo. Inspired by advice on how to begin establishing herself in this field, she took those words to heart and diligently started to work on her portfolio, creating paintings and art pieces to showcase to a potential mentor. Eventually, after gathering a substantial collection of her artwork, Renee faced numerous rejections from different studios, yet remained undeterred.
Her perseverance paid off when she was ultimately offered an apprenticeship at Never Say Die Tattoo in Harrisburg, where she had the privilege of being mentored under the experienced Chuck Read from 2017 to 2020. During this invaluable time, Renee learned a great deal about the craft and owes a significant part of the artist she has become today to her mentor(s) Chuck & Rob expressing immense gratitude towards the ideals and visions of tattooing imparted to her and of course she can’t forget Brad Kohnlein & Greg Dietrich
Renee is currently fortunate enough to be working alongside the talented crew at the very shop where she received her very first tattoo, Dreams Collide Tattoo. In her artistic journey, Renee has honed her specialty in Black & Grey Realism as well as in Custom Floral work. Her creations draw inspiration from the elegant forms of Art Nouveau, while she also possesses a deep appreciation for overall flow and contrast in every piece.
Renee aims to create & specialize in more video game-inspired art to highlight how gaming connects people. Share all your geeky ideas, especially those related to WoW!
